Flock is a data visualization project created to illuminate birding activities in Los Angeles. It aims to inspire birders and scientists alike by exploring connections between migration timing and population fluctuations. Flock provides valuable insights into avian dynamics, aiding conservationists with essential data to enhance their efforts on the ground.
Installation prototypes
The installation prototypes in Flock's data visualization explore immersive, interactive experiences. By using Processing and Madmapper, the prototype transform raw data into dynamic visual narratives, inviting users to learn about birding activities in Los Angeles. From tactile interfaces to immersive projections, each exploration provides an unique perspective into birding conservation. I hope these spatial installations foster a deeper understanding about bird migratory behavior and its implications for conservation efforts.
2nd iteration
In the second iteration, I built upon this concept by introducing circles of varying sizes and projecting information onto them. This prototype provides tangible interface, allowing users to trigger certain information about different bird species as they touched the circles.
